24 Effect of non-compliance with statutory requirements: absolute bills

In the case of an absolute bill, the effect of non-compliance with the statutory requirements regarding the statement of consideration, attestation and registration is to make the bill void as against the persons specified in the Bills of Sale Act 1878, namely, trustees or assignees in the grantor’s bankruptcy or liquidation or under any assignment for the benefit of his creditors, sheriffs’ officers and other persons seizing chattels comprised in the bill of sale under execution against the grantor, and every other person on whose behalf such process has been issued1.
