43 PIN numbers

The cardholder’s personal identification number (PIN) should never be disclosed. Liability for card misuse is limited to £50 as long as the cardholder has not acted fraudulently and has not intentionally or with gross negligence failed to comply with regulation 57 of the Payment Services Regulations 20091.

In the case of a credit card used under a regulated consumer credit agreement2, the cardholder’s liability for misuse is limited to £50 by statute3.
