12 General indorsement

Where an instrument is expressed to be payable to a specified payee or order, it is negotiated in blank (ie without specifying an indorsee) by the signature of the indorser on the bill itself1. An instrument indorsed in this way becomes payable to bearer and may thereafter be negotiated by delivery.
