8 Land Registration Act 2002

The Land Registration Act 2002 which came into force on 13 October 2003, repealed the Land Registration Act 1925. The Land Registration Rules 20031, which came into force on the same date as the 2002 Act, replaced all the rules made under the 1925 Act. The principal changes, so far as regards the registration of protective entries arising on insolvency, were:

  1. 8.1

        to replace the registration of a creditor’s notice (used to protect a creditor’s or debtor’s bankruptcy petition) with a bankruptcy notice in a prescribed form2;

  2. 8.2

        to replace the registration of a bankruptcy
