338 The functions of the administrator

The essential duty of the administrator is to formulate proposals to be approved by the creditors with a view to achieving the statutory purpose of the administration and to manage the affairs, business and property of the partnership to that end1. He has wide general powers for this purpose2 and, in exercising those powers, he is the agent of the partnership3. An administrator may apply to the court for directions in respect of any matter connected with the performance of his duties4.

An officer of the partnership is not, unless he otherwise consents, personally liable
