306 Introduction

A system of debt relief orders (‘DROs’) intended to provide an alternative to bankruptcy for persons on low incomes, in particular those with multiple debts, was introduced by the Tribunals, Courts and Enforcement Act 2007 with effect from 6 April 20091. The provisions relating to the making of debt relief orders and matters arising from their making are set out in Part VIIA and Schedule 4ZA to the Insolvency Act 19862.
