291 Deceased debtor’s estate and its protection

The provisions of the Insolvency Act 1986 Sections 283 to 285 which define the bankrupt’s estate and place restrictions on the disposition of property, and on proceedings and remedies against the property of the bankrupt, apply to the administration of an insolvent estate. The provisions are modified by the Administration of Insolvent Estates of Deceased Persons Order 1986 so that they take effect as if the petition had been presented and the insolvency administration had been made on the date of the death of the deceased debtor1.
