M: PROOF OF DEBTS AND DISTRIBUTION OF ESTATE

1: DEBTS PROVABLE IN BANKRUPTCY

232 General

On the making of a bankruptcy order no person who is a creditor of the bankrupt in respect of a debt provable in the bankruptcy shall:

  1. 232.1

        have any remedy against the property or person of the bankrupt in respect of that debt, or

  2. 232.2

        before the discharge of the bankrupt, commence any action or other legal proceedings against the bankrupt except with the leave of the court1.

This is the first element of the protection of the bankrupt from his debts. The
