23 Territorial jurisdiction of the London Insolvency District

The territorial jurisdiction of the London Insolvency District is set out in the Insolvency Rules 2016 Rule 12.5(a)1 which provides that bankruptcy petitions or applications in relation to a debt relief order under Section 251M (powers of the court in relation to debt relief orders) or Section 251N (inquiries into debtor’s dealings and property) are allocated to it where:

  1. 23.1

        the debtor is resident in England and Wales and within the six months immediately preceding the presentation of the petition, the debtor carried on business within the area of the London Insolvency
