10 Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Act 2013

This Act made a number of changes to the principal Act. In particular, Section 71(2) inserted new provisions into the Insolvency Act 19861 which were brought into force on 6 April 20162, and made consequential amendments. The effect is to remove the right of a debtor to present his own petition to the court and substitute for it a procedure whereby a debtor applies instead to an adjudicator for a bankruptcy order to be made against him.
