80 Actions by bailees against bailors

Actions by bailees against bailors may be brought in negligence, conversion or trespass to goods. An action in negligence may lie where a chattel bailed by way of loan injures the bailee through a defect which should have been reasonably apparent to the bailor before delivery1. An action may lie in conversion or trespass to goods where a bailor retakes the chattel from the bailee before the end of an agreed period of possession2.
