70 Main classes of remedy for breach of bailment

The remedies available to a party to a bailment fall into three main categories: damages, restitution and literal performance1. The first category (damages)2 is concerned with compensation for wrongs, the second (restitution)3 with the reversal of unjust enrichment of one party at the expense of the other, and the third (literal performance)4 with exact compliance with obligations, mainly through orders for specific performance or injunction.
