42 Relief of the sub-bailee

In an action by the principal bailor, the sub-bailee is entitled to rely on any protective terms contained in the sub-bailment, irrespective of any contract between him and the principal bailor, if the principal bailor has expressly or impliedly consented to the sub-bailment on such terms1. An ostensible or apparent authority in the middle bailee to conclude the sub-bailment on the relevant terms will apparently suffice for this purpose2.
