39 Duties of the lessee

39.1 Custody and safekeeping

The hirer’s duties as to custody and safekeeping correspond substantially with the duties owed by a custodian for reward1, for in each case the bailment is for mutual benefit. The hirer must take reasonable care of the goods, such care being measured by all the circumstances2.
