195 Directive on the return of cultural objects unlawfully removed from the territory of a member state

The 2014 European Directive on the return of cultural objects unlawfully removed from the territory of a member state1, and the Regulations2 that implement it in the United Kingdom, oblige a member state, to which a request is made by another member state for the return of an unlawfully-removed cultural object3, to comply with the request, provided that the object satisfies the prescribed criteria4 and the requesting member state follows the prescribed procedures5.
