In the case of Aboriginal works borrowing institutions should be alert to the possible existence of communal ownership of certain works as well as to the display of culturally sensitive material which may include sacred or private objects and the display of these1. Photography of sacred material might be inappropriate, whether by the public or for archival or research purposes2. Provision might be made in the loan agreement preventing the photography of the work where appropriate.
