161.3 Copyright owner

Where the lending institution is the copyright owner then the lending institution will be in a position to permit the borrowing institution to reproduce the work in catalogues, publicity and (if appropriate) merchandise. If a third party owns copyright in the loaned work then the borrowing institution will require details of the identity of this person or institution so that permission can be sought should the borrowing institution wish to do any acts which are restricted by copyright1.
