33 Valuation practice

The role of valuers in private practice is diverse: they may be asked to advise clients, be they buyers or lenders, as to a proposed transaction, or to negotiate with the other party to the transaction as the client’s valuer, or to give expert evidence in arbitration or court proceedings concerning valuation of property, or to act as an advocate in such arbitration proceedings1.
