2 Qualifications of an auctioneer

An auction is a manner of selling or letting property by bids, usually to the highest bidder, by public competition and an auctioneer is an agent who sells goods or other property by auction. Any person may act as an auctioneer either generally or in a particular sale without licence1. Several London boroughs do however have codes of practice and licence conditions relating to auctions conducted in their boroughs2.
