19 Information to clients and disclosure of personal interest

The agent is required to give certain information to his client before entering into a contract to engage in estate agency work1, but the actual terms on which the estate agent contracts with the client are not restricted by this requirement2. There are statutory restrictions3 on an agent negotiating for the acquisition or disposal of land in which the agent has or will have a personal interest, without first disclosing that interest4, and disclosure of any personal interest is to be made promptly and in writing5.
