81 Advantages of ADR

81.1 Speed

Most ADR procedures can be set up very quickly if necessary—subject only to the availability of those needed to attend—and the duration of the process itself may be measured in days, rather than weeks or months. This may be an attractive alternative to protracted litigation or arbitration. Should the dispute be successfully resolved, the parties are free to get on with their business without the distraction, cost and uncertainty of unresolved proceedings.
