57.10 Failure to comply with requirements as to the form of award1

The Arbitration Act 19962 sets out certain default rules as to the form of an award that will apply, subject to any contrary agreement by the parties. In particular that the award shall3:

  1. 57.10.1

        be in writing signed by all the arbitrators or all those assenting to the award;

  2. 57.10.2

        contain the reasons for the award unless it is an agreed award or the parties have agreed to dispense with reasons; and

  3. 57.10.3

        state the seat of the arbitration and the date when
