52 Form of the award

Unless the parties agree otherwise, the tribunal’s award must1:

  1. 52.1

        be in writing and signed by all of the arbitrators, or all those assenting to the award;

  2. 52.2

        contain the reasons for the award (unless the award is an agreed award or the parties have agreed to dispense with reasons); and

  3. 52.3

        state the seat of the arbitration and the date when the award is made.

Aside from these statutory requirements there are certain other basic principles as to the form and contents of an award:
