36 Power to appoint experts, legal advisers or assessors

36 Power to appoint experts, legal advisers or assessors

Unless otherwise agreed by the parties, the arbitral tribunal may appoint:

  1. 36.1

        experts or legal advisers to report to it and the parties; or

  2. 36.2

        assessors to assist it on technical matters,

and may allow any such expert, legal adviser or assessor to attend the proceedings1. In such circumstances, the tribunal must give the parties a reasonable opportunity to comment on any information, opinion or advice offered by any such individual2.
