7 Animal boarding establishments

No person may keep a boarding establishment for cats or dogs without a licence granted by the appropriate local authority1. No forms are prescribed, but the Animal Boarding Establishments Act 1963 provides a code of objectives to guide the local authority when considering whether to grant a licence or not2; it also provides for the inspection of premises by a veterinary surgeon or practitioner authorised by the local authority3.
