4 Pet shops

The Pet Animals Act 19511 provides for the licensing2 by local authorities of pet shops as defined, at which is carried on the business of selling any vertebrates as pets3. No specific forms are prescribed, but precedents for a form of application for a licence to keep a pet shop, for the licence itself, for an agreement between a local authority and a veterinary surgeon to act as their inspector, and for an authority to inspect premises licensed under the Pet Animals Act 1951 are included in this title4.
