24 Compensation

Where slaughter of diseased or infected animals is ordered, compensation is normally payable to their owners, the amount being based on the value of the animal, and varying according to whether the animal was affected with disease or not and according to the nature of the disease1.

Compensation is also payable in respect of anything seized by order of the relevant ministers for the purpose of preventing the spread of disease2.
