22 Disease control

The Animal Health Act 1981 consolidates the law governing the control of animal diseases. It applies to the many diseases either specified in the Animal Health Act 1981 itself or in orders made, or continuing in force as if made, under it1, and its purpose is to prevent the introduction of disease into Great Britain and the carrying of disease by animals exported by means of control of importation and exportation, and to prevent the spreading of any outbreak of disease occurring in Great Britain.
