39 Procedure for a compulsory hiring order

A district council or, in Wales, county or county borough council, not less than one calendar month before submitting the compulsory hiring order to the Secretary of State or Welsh Minister, must advertise the order and give notice of it to owners, tenants and occupiers, stating the period for making objections1. If no objection is presented, or if an objection is presented but is withdrawn, the Secretary of State or the Welsh Minister must, without further inquiry, confirm the order.
