15 Appropriation and disposal of land acquired for allotments

A council1 may appropriate land acquired for allotments for other purposes of the council2. Land acquired for allotments but no longer needed, or unsuitable, for allotments may be sold, let or exchanged for more suitable land3.

A local authority must not, however, sell, appropriate, use or dispose of land purchased or appropriated for allotments for any other purpose without the consent of the Secretary of State or the Welsh Minister, whose consent may be unconditional or subject to conditions, but must not be given unless adequate
