141 Working on preserved trees

Five days’ notice of any work to the trees must be given to the local authority except in emergency1. As well as being liable to a fine, a garden owner will be obliged to replant a tree felled in breach of the order. Compensation may be payable where leave to fell etc is refused2, or conditions are imposed3. Compensation may also be paid where replanting is required, but not if a forestry authority grant would not be available.
