In order to claim under the Basic Payment Scheme the partnership will need to be registered on the Rural Payments system as a business2, hold entitlements registered in its name and have sufficient eligible land at its disposal on 15 May each year. If one of the partners already holds entitlements and wishes to make these available to the partnership, then this should be made clear in the partnership agreement. Alternatively the partnership may be able to buy entitlements on the open market.
