If the relevant body concludes that a project is likely to have significant environmental effects, the farmer or land manager will need to apply to Natural England or the Welsh Ministers for consent before commencing the project. For the purposes of that application for consent, the farmer or land manager will inevitably have to prepare an environmental statement providing the information prescribed by the Environmental Impact Assessment (Agriculture) Regulations1.
