A farmer who wishes to carry out a project that may fall within the Environmental Impact Assessment (Agriculture) Regulations should make an application to Natural England or the Welsh Ministers1. A decision will then be taken as to whether the Regulations apply to what is proposed. If they do, then a screening process2 will be undertaken by Natural England or the Welsh Ministers (as the case may be) to determine whether the project is likely to have significant environmental effects and thus whether an environmental statement is required.
