551 Introduction

The Hedgerows Regulations 1997 apply to any hedgerow or part of a hedgerow growing in, or adjacent to, any common land, protected land or land used for agriculture, forestry or the breeding and keeping of horses, ponies or donkeys if, either, it has a continuous length of at least 20 metres, or is less than 20 metres in length but meets, by intersection or junction, another hedgerow1.
