52 Application for a Young Farmer Payment

The underlying regulations require Member States to use their national reserveas a matter of priority to allocate payment entitlements to young farmers and farmers commencing their agricultural activity1. Member States are also given discretion to use their national reserve to cover the yearly needs for Young Farmer Payments2. This payment is one of three compulsory direct payments along with the Basic Payment Scheme and the Greening Payment.
