413 Consultation in relation to a planning application

An essential part of the planning process is the statutory consultation required to be undertaken by the planning authority in respect of any planning application. Which individuals and organisations are to be consulted by planning authorities is generally a matter of discretion for a local planning authority but there are certain statutory consultation requirements which may be considered as minimum standards which must be applied by planning authorities. A list of statutory consultees is prescribed in the Town and Country Planning (Development Management Procedure) (England) Order 20151.
