The grants available under the English Woodland Grant Scheme (EWGS) comprised:
Wood-fuel Woodland Improvement Grant (Wood-fuel WIG), which supported the sustainable production of wood-fuel and other timber products.
Woodland Improvement Grant (WIG), which funded a capital investment in woodlands over an agreed period to create, enhance and sustain an increase in the quantity and quality of public benefits delivered.
Woodland Management Grant (WMG), which aimed to encourage sustainable woodland management and deal with regular work eg pest control.
Woodland Creation Grant (WCG), which helped landowners meet the costs of establishing new woodland.
