27 Agricultural area

An ‘agricultural area’ means any area taken up by arable land (including fallow land and temporary grassland), permanent grassland (which includes permanent pasture) and permanent crops1.

The agricultural area must be used predominantly for agricultural activities. Certain non-agricultural activities are permitted to take place alongside the agricultural activities on the eligible land, however if the intensity, nature, duration, and timing of the non-agricultural activity significantly interferes with agricultural activity, then these will not be allowed2.
