217 Historic buildings and ancient monuments

English Heritage and Cadw (Welsh Historic Monuments) manage certain historic buildings and ancient monuments which have been vested in or are managed by the State. Some are open to the public free of charge, others for a fee. Access to these sites is by permission of the relevant body. However, historic building grants include a public access declaration appropriate to each case.

Where Section 2(1) of the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000 might grant access rights to the public, a restriction could be applied
