186.2 Littering offences

Legislation has intervened to impose littering offences and also imposes duties on landowners. Recent amendments have been introduced with the aim of making it an offence to leave litter on any type of land or water, including the sea down to the low-water mark1 unless authorised by law or done with the consent of the owner or occupier of the land2.
