172 Additional provisions in relation to deer

Under the Deer Act 1991 it is an offence to take or intentionally kill deer of any species or description specified in the Act during the prescribed close seasons1. An offence however is not committed when farmed deer2 are killed during the close season by their keeper or his servant or agent, or one of a specified class of persons3 takes or kills any deer by shooting it or in an attempt to shoot it injures a deer on any cultivated land, pasture or enclosed woodland.
