170 Exceptions to protection of wild animals

Nothing in the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 Section 9 (protection of certain wild animals) makes unlawful:

  1. 170.1

        anything done in pursuance of a requirement of the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs or the Secretary of State for Wales as the case may be under the Agriculture Act 1947 Section 98 or anything done in pursuance of an order made under the Animal Health Act 19811;

  2. 170.2

        anything done in a dwelling house, but in the case of bats the defendant must also show that he notified Natural
