155 Compulsory purchase

Local authorities have powers of compulsory purchase where they are convinced that they cannot arrive at a satisfactory agreement on reasonable terms1, for example, where a breach of a nature reserve agreement occurs which prevents or jeopardises proper management of a local nature reserve. The powers however are subject to limitations and dispute procedures and in practice are rarely used.
