Natural England and the Natural Resources Body for Wales may enter into management agreements1.

Natural England is empowered to enter into a management agreement under the general provision in Section 7 of the Natural Environment and Rural Communities Act 2006. Where the power is exercised in order to secure land which it appears expedient in the national interest should be managed as a nature reserve, it is a ‘nature reserve agreement’ for the purposes of the National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act 1949 Part III2.
