107 Contracts for services of animals for breeding

107.1 Nature of the contract

So far as contracts for the services of animals for breeding purposes1 are concerned, these generally speaking fall into the class known as contracts of bailment. Clearly the questions arising under these contracts, apart from any particular terms, concern in most cases the safety and eventual return of the animal involved. A bailee for reward is bound to take reasonable care of the property bailed and in the execution of the task he undertakes, including reasonable precautions against risks imminent or to be apprehended2,
