101 Leasing or hiring of animals

The term ‘lease’ is frequently used in reference to transactions relating to the temporary transfers of the possession of animals. This usage is common in transactions concerning racehorses and racing greyhounds which are in fact hirings of the animals under which the ‘lessees’ or hirers for a consideration, often a percentage of its winnings, get the possession and use of the animal for a fixed term1.
