407 Qualifying tenancy or licence

The tenancy or licence must be:

  1. 407.1

        an assured tenancy1 that is not an assured shorthold tenancy2; or

  2. 407.2

        a tenancy that would be an assured tenancy save that:

    1. 407.2.1

          no rent is payable3; or

    2. 407.2.2

          in respect of a tenancy entered into on or after 1 April 1990 (except where the dwellinghouse had a rateable value on 31 March 1990 and the tenancy is entered into in pursuance of a contract made before 1 April 1990), the rent for the time being payable is £1000 or less a year if the dwellinghouse is in
