On a reference of rent to arbitration or for third party determination the arbitrator or third party must:
determine what rent is properly payable1 in respect of the holding at the next termination date following the demand for arbitration or (as the case may be) the reference for third party determination; and
accordingly, with effect from that next termination date, increase or reduce the rent previously payable or direct that it should continue unchanged2.
