78 Sale and supply of goods

The Sale and Supply of Goods to Consumers Regulations 20021 amended the Sale of Goods Act 1979 and the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982 so that, where a buyer (or transferee as the case may be) deals as a consumer, advertising and other public statements made about specific characteristics of particular goods must be taken into account in determining whether the goods supplied are of satisfactory quality2. This applies whether the advertising or other statements are made by the seller/transferor or by the producer
